Drivewear Lenses

In the past, clear eyewear was enough. In bright light conditions, polarized sunwear was enough. This is no longer true. Today our lives are strongly influenced by the automobile, which has changed the way we experience the outdoors. We need a third category of lenses in our modern, automobile-centered world. Drivewear.

Drivewear lenses are capable of sensing and reacting to varying light conditions both outside and behind the windshield of the car. From bright sunlight accompanied by intense, blinding glare, to overcast inclement conditions, Drivewear lenses provide the wearer with the appropriate visual solution.

Drivewear lenses provide glare protection through polarization and enhance and protect vision through photochromics which respond to both visible and UV light. By combining the strengths of two of the most important technologies in eyewear today we have developed the lens of tomorrow, Drivewear.

» Pasch offers the new Shamir Creation™ Flat and Exact.

Shamir Creation: Developed with patented Freeform Optics™, providing design resolution up to six times more accurate than cast PALS. Shamir Creation, introduced in an extended base curve selection (up to 20 percent more than a leading competitor) provides flatter, cosmetically superior lenses (up to 40 percent flatter). This extensive base curve selection not only produces flatter lenses, but also results in an optimally divided prescription range that guarantees the best optical performance for each prescription.

Freedom Optics: The semi-finished PALs produced using previous technologies required the use of ceramic molds (also known as mechanical molds). These mechanical molds replicate the lens design with up to 6/100 diopters. Freedom Optics patented software bypasses the ceramic molds and creates digital molds (glass molds). Freedom Optics molds provide up to six times more resolution.

Cosmetically Superior: Shamir Creation is available in six different base curves (up to 20 percent more than leading competitive lenses). As a result, the prescription range is optimally divided between these base curves in order to guarantee the best optical performance for each prescription. The end result: superior optical quality in a flatter and thinner lens (up to 40 percent flatter).
